Brisbane City Life

I've stayed in Brisbane for almost 4 weeks now and intend to stay for a couple more weeks, if not months until I have saved up enough money to travel further. Some time ago I moved into a flatshare in inner city Brisbane, which turned out to probably be the best decision ever made. I now live on the 35th floor with my own balcony, an absolutely amazing view and some pretty awesome flatmates.

The past couple of days I got to meet Sarah again, who I have met in Cairns with Julie for the first time and in Airlie Beach the second time. I truly had a blast hanging out with her and exploring the shops of Queenstreet :D

The following pictures were taken on my first (free) ferry ride on the Brisbane River about a week or two ago with Joshua. I had the best time with him, Daniel and Pascal, who sadly have all left already - but that's the backpacker's life. Got to love it!

Brissi and last trip with Julie (Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay)

On May 30th Julie and I took our last trip together to Surfers Paradise and Byron Bay. We only stayed until June 2nd in the morning to get Julie to the airport in time to catch her flight from Brisbane to Sydney in the afternoon. We spent a couple of beautiful days and last nights in our car Gregan and had an absolutely amazing last sunset together at the most eastern point of Australia by Byron Bay. Julie and I have spent the whole journey together up until now, which sums up to more than 2 months that I have learned so much about the world and myself. I will never forget the times we've spent and I am extremely sad to let her go, but life goes on! I'll stay in Brisbane for at least a couple of weeks, if not months. If you read this Julie: I MISS YOU! Have a safe trip and get home safely :)

Agnes Water to Brisbane (Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary)

We eventually left Agnes Water to go to Brisbane. On the way to Brissi, we stopped in Bundaberg to take a break and sleep in our beloved car Gregan. It was such a hassle to try and find a place to safely sleep without having to worry about the police or security finding us and giving us a fine. Sleeping in a car in Australia is illegal and will be fined with 2000$ if police sees you. Everyone does it anyway.

These pictures were taken shortly before we left Agnes Water on the 24th of May. We left "Elke", our pink chair at the hostel and hope to have started (or continued on) the passing around of Elke all around Australia. I have recently heard that Elke is still in Agnes Water, but might be taken to other places soon.

On one of our first days in Brisbane, we decided to check out a koala sanctuary since you haven't really experienced Australia if you haven't at least seen or even touched a koala! We got to hang out not just with koalas, but also with kangaroos, birdies and snakes.
